Studs…Spikes…Bad girl gone GLAM!
Punk Rock has taken a turn for the best. If you’re an 80’s baby like me, I always associated the look with spiked colorful hair. Rockin’ out to some tunes at CBGB. Or maybe at a biker club, excluding Hells Angels, of course. LOL. Not aaaannnyyymooorreee!
Studs and spikes can be seen every where it seems. At the workplace, you can pair a studded collar button down shirt with black slacks and simple pumps. Keep the jewelry to a minimum but definitely complete the look with a fitted blazer. Too much??? No worries…. spiked bracelet paired with your favorite watch will give any outfit that “I’m fashion forward” look in the boardroom. My bracelet became a conversation piece last week at a client meeting. I saw quite a few ladies order from asos.com on their iphones right before my departure. 😉
Moms can have fun too… spike and stud it out on the playground. Have some fun with studded sweatshirts matched with comfortable leggings for your fun filled day with the family. Or just a cool simple t-shirt layered with a leather jacket , studded or spiked accented jeans and comfortable booties. We can look effortless and F A B U L O U S.
I have many of friends that would say no way to studs and spikes on their clothing. Trends are not for them because they typically buy classic pieces. So how to incorporate you ask!?!?!? ACCESSORIZE, my lovelies. Shoes, Bags, Belts, and Jewelry…there’s something for everyone.
If you liked the Christain Louboutin shoes in the above pic, you’ll also love the Red Valentino studded slingbacks at Bergdorf Goodman. Trend shopper on a budget? Yup, I’m right there with you. Truth or Dare by Madonna (Macy’s)has a beautiful pair of pointed spiked pumps that will give any outfit a lil extra Sexy EDGE.
The key is not to over do it. Add just enough edge so that your “Rebel with a Cause” look feels oh so good.
